A Mt. Angel Celebration of German Sausage
Dust off your Lederhosen, starch up your Dirndl apron and join the happy folks in Mount Angel for two days of celebration in honor of the best of the “wurst” – Old World sausages that is – at the 6th annual Wurstfest on February 28, March 1, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the Mount Angel Festhalle (500 S. Wilco Highway) in Mount Angel.
The festival features live German music including performances by local dance troupes (the Kleinstadtlers and the Fleckensteiners) and domestic beers on tap, regional and German wines, and, of course, a variety of delicious handmade sausages. Select cheeses, artisan breads and cookies, specialty mustards, chocolates and roasted nuts round out the food offerings. Vendors sell German souvenirs, clothing and other craft items. There will also be a Wurstfest 5k Run & Walk on Saturday sponsored by Race Northwest www.racenorthwest.com/events.
For more information, go to www.mtangelwurstfest.com or call Mt. Angel Chamber of Commerce at (503) 845-9440 (this is a message phone, but someone will get back to you.)
All proceeds from Wurstfest benefit Mt. Angel Chamber of Commerce community improvement projects and activities.
